Diabetes? That took out one of my cats. Just wasn’t metabolizing his food. Ate everything he could find, pooped it all out, kept losing weight. He became obsessed with water… laying next to his water bowl, in the sink, etc. Diabetes will increase thirst.

Keeping you all in our prayers.

Cat blood sugar is tricky business. I did a lot of reading when we got the diabetes diagnosis. You can maintain diabetic cats on insulin, but regulating their blood sugar is notoriously difficult. I ended up not going that route. This cat was a chronic regurgitator. Stick him with insulin, leave for work, and if he barfs he’d be in a coma (or worse) when I get home. We kept him and loved him for as long as we could without being selfish. He was around 11 or 12.
Was she ever on predisone for any length of time? Mine took pred for a long time due to chronic bowel issues. Pred usage is highly correlated with diabetes in cats.

Lymphoma. Put down tonight by a virtuous vet who did not lie about the prognosis.

Oh, my. You poor souls. I lost two non-human friends of 12+ years in a short space of time, but not nearly this short. I empathize with you.

Very sorry once again. Terrible loss. My condolences.
